My son would like to find some additional instruments to get the sound he is looking for. Any suggestions?

I understand the Mixcraft 5 will have some additional instruments. Is there a list of these?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Steve

yes MX5 will have more VSTI's but I don't have a full final list in front of me.
Search google. For example if you are looking for stringed instruments, maybe search "vsti strings" or "vsti orchestra" stuff like that.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
What is VSTI?
Can any VSTI be added to Mixcraft?
How do I do this?
Is there any documentation?

Thanks,
Steve

VST stands for Virtual Studio Technology, dubbed so by Steinburg.
A VST is an effect, like a reverb or chorus.
VSTI is Virtual Studio Technology Instrument, which is the same technology and standards but in the form of a virtual instrument.

So basically:
VST = Effects
VSTI = Virtual Instruments

There are tutorials and an online manual on how to use 3rd party effects and instruments here

Yes all VST and VSTI plugins can be added to Mixcraft.

How do I do this?

You copy the VST file (it should be a .dll or a folder with your .dll and maybe some presets and stuff in it). Then you go to Program Files\Acoustica Mixcraft 4\VST and paste it.
