I'm new to mixcraft, I have been reading up in the forms and help but can't seem to find a solution. I have recorded several tracks (guitar, drums, etc. no problems) I saved them both as Mixcraft and mp3 files) At first there was no problem, but now I am geting short gaps on different tracks at different times when I play back either type of file.
I Played around with the latency settings (although no expert here) with no luck. I did add some mixcraft thunder sound effects as well. Not sure if that kind of file could affect it. I am using a MAudio fire wire solo with it's includes mixer software. I have 512 ram, lots of hardrive space, shut down my virusware,
Why would it I be getting playback delay gaps and can I correct this?
Thanks for any suggestions.... |

Hi,
Generally, you'd increase the buffers or latency setting in order to get rid of gapping. You might also consider getting more RAM for your computer, since 512 MB is a bit low.

Hi greg and thanks..I've tried increasing the buffers...no luck. when I play back the tracks they all gap at the same time (silence) which leads me to think that it could be a ram thing at the time I mixed it(not recorded)....but everytime I play it gaps in different places so I haven't lost any material if that makes any sense...what I want to do is save that current song without gaps..it was alot of work..

Hi,
This is likely just a playback problem. Try burning a CD or making an MP3 and then try playing it in different players.

Hey again Greg
Yes .definately a playback problem as the gaps are in different places everytime I replay. I've saved as mp3 and tried in a couple other players with the same results. I'm going to open a 2nd mixcraft and copy and paste the tracks into it, I'm thinking the sound effects (which were not, I now realize, from mixcraft but rather free mp3 sound effects on line). Maybe they are to blame but then it was all fine at first
