incorrect track number in library

Often the track numbers shown in the library are incorrect. Mant seem to say 50, 53, 58 etc while some are correct.

Why? How can I correct or do I always need to reset the track numbers?

Hi,

Right-click on the song in the library, select "Edit Track Information" and then you can change the track number, along with other information like Artist and Album.

I have right clicked and done as suggested, however often it does not save the changes.

All other music software programs I have, & I have several, can read the tag correctly. The tags are in place. Its lust that this program has a problem.

DO the track numbers need to be 2 digits to work?

Can you give us some specific examples, please? What numbers tend to be wrong, and how are they wrong?

Hi - Before the software analized the tracks, the track number column showed several tracks with numbers like 51, 53, 54 & some correct. After the analization most were corrected, only leaving one incorrect Track 2 is shown as track 51 in the track column.

After asking it to desplay in order based upon track number, the following was shown, with the real track 2 shown as track 12 in the first column and track 51 in the track column.

I have seen this track numbering problem ( numbers over 50) with Real Player Basic, but not with Windows 11, Rhapsody or Creative Media Player 5
