HELP!!!!!! Has anyone had this problem! creating beats is no hassle but when i press the play button, nothing happens can anyone help!!!

Thanx for getting back to me. it seems to be a software problem as the timeline does scroll and once you hit the play button it sticks on the stop icon! do you think the new version update will sort this out?

Nothing happens as in the play cursor does not move? If it does but you just don't hear sound, go into the program preferences and set your playback device to your specific sound card.

"a soundcard could not be found"

I have the same issue... No scrolling cursor and the play button just sticks. The sound device IS selected in preferences. My soundcard IS updated, enabled and playback/recording works perfectly with every other music application i own.

help?

Hi,

Windows Vista and 7 users will see that "A sound card cannot be found" error when they start Beatcraft, but then it will work just fine.

If you are seeing that error when you try to play that sound, you must have the wrong thing selected in the Playback Device setting, or there is a problem with your sound drivers.

What kind of sound card do you have? What do you have selected for the Playback Device? (File Menu > Preferences > Playback)

I see the error message when starting beatcraft (since i'm running vista) and no other time.

I have a Realtek HD audio card and verified in device manager that my drivers are up-to-date and working properly. i also made sure that realtek hd audio was my default playback device in control panel as well as in beatcrafts preferences.

Then i load a wav or mp3 file in the pattern editor and hit play. the play icon turns into a stop icon but absolutely nothing happens. no scrolling, no sound, nothing.

Hi,

Go to Realtek's web page to download and install the latest "High Definition Audio Codecs."

i'm at a loss

Hi,

You did install the high definition audio codecs, right? You probably just need to set the recording device in your recording software. Its name may have changed with the update.

Hi,

Did you shut down and restart your computer? If not, try that.

Are you able to play sound in other programs right now? What do you have selected as your recording device? What are your options?

restarted, nothing...

other programs (that used to get sound) no longer do.

default device is line-in, other option is mic.

this is bizarre

my recording device is set on "stereo mix realtek"

since that codec update made soundforge stop working right and did nothing for beatcraft, i reinstalled the older version and soundforge is working again.

i reinstalled beatcraft just for kicks, but it's not doing anything... i have no clue

You could ask around the soundforge forum since the newest realtek driver affected their softwares ability to record.
If someone knows a fix, it could fix Beatcraft too.

the codec update didn't resolve my beatcraft issue, so i'm back to using the old realtek codec since soundforge works fine with it.

i'd really just love to kno why beatcraft is being so stubborn

If you're running Mixcraft (or another program) in ASIO mode, quit it when you are using Beatcraft. ASIO takes exclusive control of your sound card.
