From the looks of these forums, this would be thread #87164091 for suggestions to improve Beatcraft. Here are mine...
- Window does not start maximized.
- Instrument ID should always remain on the left side; you should not have to scroll back to the left to find out which instrument you are writing beats on.
- Beat/measure ID should always remain at the top; you should not have to scroll back to the top to find out which beat/measure you are writing beats on.
- Triplet notation should be available in a variety of styles (not just eight and sixteenth notes) by clicking one button that scrolls through all possible meters (quarter, half, etc.)
- Program frequently crashes when re-naming drum kits.
- You should be able to insert blank beats/measures into the sequencer instead of having to move all of the tracks over.
- After moving tracks in the sequencer, the program unselects them; this is cumbersome.
- When selecting and moving tracks in the sequencer, the view on the screen automatically moves to the beginning (left side) of the selected track, instead of maintaining your current view; this is frustrating.
- When selecting a part of a track in the sequencer, being able to press “Ctrl+End” would be a nice feature to select the rest of the track.
- Being able to select multiple tracks in the sequencer would also be a nice feature.
- Sometimes “undo” doesn’t undo a volume change.
- The screen should “jump” to where an undo occurs.
- Multiple “undo’s” cause the program to crash; why?
- The program crashes when trying to open a program that doesn’t exist (listed in the recent projects under “File…”).
- The “Advanced Step Controls” on every “button” (the arrows) should be available globally for that entire instrument (on the far left side with volume, pan, FX, etc.). Setting an increased rate (1.1 for example) is cumbersome to engage across all of the beats; doing it once for the whole set would be much more convenient. This window also appears out of frame and in order to “Choke Previous Sounds” the window has to be moved in order to check or uncheck this feature.
- It is difficult to move an instrument up or down; the only way is the with “Move Track Up/Down” option. This can result in clicking many times to move something from the bottom to the top.
- A pause button would be nice in the sequencer playback area. It is frustrating to stop mid-way through a song and lose your place because the program automatically goes back to where you last clicked within the sequencer.
- Being able to copy patterns to different projects would be a very nice feature.
- The scroll wheel on the mouse does not work in all windows. For example, when in the “Pattern Editor” window, the wheel will only work when the “Sequencer” window is also open. If the “Kit Library” or “Sample Library” is open when the “Pattern Editor” window is open as well, the scroll wheel will only work in the “Kit Library” or “Sample Library” but not the “Pattern Editor” window.
- Edit Undo (Ctrl+Z) does not undo a change in the volume (on the left side of the Pattern Editor). _________________ Check out my songs using only Beatcraft!

Hi,
Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. In regard to the crashing and the program starting up minimized, make sure that you are using version 1.02 build 19. Download the latest version of Beatcraft.
